  1. Certainly, it is time to create such a council. By all measures, education, mental health, suicide rates, unemployment and underemployment, boys and men are in distress. In truth we can not effectively build strong family units without addressing the boy crisis and the unique challenges facing today’s young men. Some where along the line we got the message that our boys will just be ok, without any supports from the greater community. We are wrong! They need us now to have the moral compass to come to their side in the same way we responsed to girls and women just a few generations ago. What does it say about us? That we love our girls and leave our boys to make it the best way that they can? We must do better!
